Extention-Korda Page Picture

Extension-Korda is the youth arm of Korda Artistic Productions, offering young theatre artists the opportunity to develop their skills and creativity under the mentorship of experienced members from the Korda Artistic Productions team. Tracey B. Atin serves as Mentor and Project Lead for most Extension-Korda offerings, with the students taking on the challenges of full-scale productions, writing, producing, directing, technical requirements and marketing for performing arts events and activities. From Summer Camps and Cabaret Nights, to full productions both inside and outside of the theatre, the young artists have the opportunity to explore a life in the performing arts through this innovative program.

Our first student artist was Ellie Moon, who produced The Lion in Winter at KordaZone in 2010. Following that, Caulin Moore and Hope Forman produced an original musical spoof that combined characters and situations from Glee and the Twilight Saga.

In 2016, the program received generous funding from the Canada Summer Jobs Program to pay the student artists for their work, and from the City of Windsor’s Arts, Culture and Heritage Fund. Both unique funding opportunities allowed the program to flourish, encouraged audience growth, and had a positive impact on the community.
